Sometimes referred to as the "Flip That House Girl," Mercedes lights up audiences with a vivacious spirit and entrepreneurial drive that has captured national television audiences. A full-time investor and business owner, Mercedes specializes in helping others learn how to create wealth from savvy, educated real estate investments.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Los Angeles, Mercedes graduated from Hollywood High school and served as student-body Vice President. She earned a degree in Psychology with a minor in Business from the University of California, Los Angeles and pursued studying law for a year in Madrid, Spain. Mercedes comes from a lower to middle class family and was determined to change her next generation. She co-owned a furniture store, and now her own real estate investing company as well as serving as a partner in several joint venture.
Mercedes turned to real estate investing full-time in early 2008 after a successful stay in mortgage banking as a top-producing account representative for a sub-prime institution. When she saw the lending environment begin to shift, and sub-prime companies began to fold, Mercedes knew she needed to learn how to invest. She saw the opportunity to join this community to take her desire to be on the investing side of real estate. In her first month with the community, she "clicked a mouse, bought a house" a few times and utilized the education to increase the value of a commercial building she owns. Additionally, Mercedes successfully executed a rehab project that, not only netted a significant profit in an incredibly "down market", but caught the attention of the nationally-televised program, "Flip That House" on the TLC channel.
Today, Mercedes continues to do more fix-n-flip projects and is also focusing on multi-family acquisitions and buy/hold cash-flowing properties. She proudly represents this community and hopes to help as many people believe if a Latina girl from the 'hood' in LA can do it, anyone can do it.
